Cocoa Sugar is the new album from Scottish trio Young Fathers. Released on 9th March 2018 via
Ninja Tune, it follows the group’s previous two full lengths; 2014’s Mercury Prize-winning DEAD and
2015’s seminal White Men Are Black Men and 2013’s TAPE TWO which won Scottish Album of the

Year (SAY Award).

Cocoa Sugar was top 30 in the UK charts and #17 on Amazon Main Album Chart, #3 Amazon
Indie & Alternative Best Sellers and #17 in iTunes Main Charts. The album was nominated for
Independent Album of the Year at this years Aim Awards and for the second time, won the SAY

Award in 2018.

World exclusive sync for TV and online Apple Advert for the Apple Watch including ‘Toy’. ‘Border Girl’
featured in FIFA’s 2019 soundtrack. A number of key singles including ‘In My View’, ‘Toy’ and ‘Tremelo’
were added to New Music Friday, Spotify Viral Charts and Apple’s The A List Alternative in more
than 25 territories. ‘In My View’ combined streams now over 4 million and ‘Toy’ 2 million.

Young Fathers’ debut appearance on Later With Jools Holland in May listed as No.2 Best Of The
Season by the BBC and includes incredible live performances of ‘Toy’ and ‘In My View’. Their BBC 6
Music main stage performance at The Biggest Weekend in Belfast was broadcast on the BBC.
Multiple BBC Radio 1 plays from Annie Mac, Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens. ‘In My View’ and ‘Holy
Ghost’ added to BBC 6 Music’s A-List and ‘Toy’ to the B-List plus huge support from Lauren Laverne,
Radcliffe & Maconie, Shaun Keavney, Huey Morgan to name a few. Album selected for BBC 6
Music’s Album Of The Day. Radio interviews/sessions with Lauren Laverne and Iggy Pop.
The band have also appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel show, Channel 4’s coverage of the Mercury
Music Awards, BBC’s Best of Glastonbury 2015 highlights, Electronic Beats festival, KEXP

Radio USA, BBC 6Music festival and Channel 4’s Four To The Floor.

Summer 2018 has seen them support LCD Sound System twice - first at the Hollywood Bowl
alongside the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and then a two night run in Glasgow. This summer Young Fathers have
played the main stage at All Points East festival in London and are confirmed as main support for
Florence and the Machine’s European tour in March 2019. Throughout late 2018 they will embark on a
worldwide tour including two sold out shows at The Eden Project with Massive Attack in July and a
final run of US and UK shows in November/December including London’s Brixton O2 Academy (5000

capacity) and a sold out show in Glasgow’s O2 Academy.

They’ve previously supported Massive Attack across the globe and had a headline slot at British
Summertime. Other highlights include Coachella, MIA’s Meltdown Festival and performing a

bespoke live score at Basquiat x Video Jam at the Barbican in Feb ’18.

2017 saw 6 Young Fathers tracks feature in T2: Trainspotting accompanied by support from Pitchfork,
The Guardian, i-D, Line of Best Fit, DIY, Clash, “The heart” of the film” - Danny Boyle
