A corner stone of Turkish rock music, Vega was founded by Deniz Akyüz and Tuğrul Akyüz.

One of the most beloved musical formations in the country, they own the title of most concerts by a band before a debut project. When they did start putting out material in higher numbers, Vega came on the scene in 1996 with a combination of alternative rock and electronic influences. Over the next few years, albums like "Tamam Sustum" (1999), “Tatlı Sert” (2001) and “Hafif Müzik” (2005) cemented their cult following in Turkish pop culture.
